With more than 65 years of continuous engineering excellence, the current engineering staff is at the forefront of nonstop system improvements through the utilization of state of the art computer programs forming a foundation for its System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, Protective Relaying, Generation Control, Automated System Restoration, and Advanced Computer Assisted Design (CAD) including 3D rendering. This group authors numerous complex specifications, construction standards for overhead and submersible installations, and modeling of the FE grid for load, voltage, and protection coordination studies. In the past 10 years, FE engineers have designed the famous Freeport Nautical Mile, a mile lone completely underground electric network furnishing power to power loads such as required by numerous restaurants, pleasure and commercial fishing boats, recreation facilities, and resident condominiums. In addition, they continuously monitor and improve generation controls and improve the efficiency of FE generators throughout the system.
